Ciudad Vieja, the colonial-era capital a few kilometres from Antigua, honours its patron, the Immaculate Conception, on 8 December. The feast traditionally includes processions of the venerated image known as 'La Chapetona', folk dances such as the Seven Vices and Virtues, Moors and Christians and the devils' dance, plus fireworks and traditional food. The 2026 programme and times had not been published.
