Mask Culture: Storytelling and Painting

Description

A Saturday workshop on the traditional Sanni Yakuma masks of southern Sri Lanka. It is led by Dinesh Sandaruwan, a master carver and spirit worker. He shares the chants, stories and symbolism behind the masks, then everyone paints their own mask to take home. All materials are included, and the workshop needs at least three participants to run.
